Meet the architect

Hugh Maaskant

Architect Hugh Maaskant (1907-1977) played a major role in modern Dutch architecture. He designed revolutionary, complex, large-scale buildings with metropolitan allure, like the Groothandelsgebouw, the Euromast and Hilton Rotterdam.

Hugh Maaskant is considered the godfather and forerunner of the generation of Winy Maas (MVRDV), Adriaan Geuze (West 8), Willem Jan Neutelings and Rem Koolhaas (OMA).

Natural Habitat

The ecosystem

The apartments are one part of a bigger jigsaw. We bring life not just to the apartments, but also to the communal areas of the building, to the street and to the neighbourhood beyond. It is a building that is filled with life, which spills outside into the neighbourhood.

It doesn’t feel forced or fixed – it is a natural habitat for an open-minded urban resident who appreciates quality of life that comes from being part of a community.

From dawn to midnight

Kruiskade and around

The Kruiskade is located at the heart of the shopping area, just in between Rotterdam’s Central District and the Lijnbaan Quarter, with many restaurants and bars, theatre, cinema, and just a minute walk from Rotterdam’s Central Station. There is life on the street from dawn to midnight.
