Also in August, the zoo will be open until 9 pm on Saturdays, with each evening dedicated to a special animal theme, featuring unique guided tours, keeper talks and performances in collaboration with Luxor Theater Rotterdam.

A different theme each week

Every Saturday focuses on a different group of animals, from mighty pachyderms to swift predators and gentle grazers. Together with Luxor Theater Rotterdam, the zoo offers a varied line-up of performances, fascinating keeper insights and exclusive behind-the-scenes access.

Sketch among the animals

New this year is a series of drawing workshops. On four Saturdays in August (except 30 August) visitors can take part in interactive sessions to learn how to bring animals to life on paper, all within the inspiring surroundings of the zoo.
